Description |
English: Study of the foretop of HMS 'Repulse' Two studies in different orientations on a single sheet. That on the right in pencil is just a quick sketch of clouds over the sea. The other is over a blue wash covering the other half of the page and is inscribed by the artist 'Repulse'. It depicts the foretop of this battlecruiser quite accurately in the period 1916 to early 1917, before the ship underwent any rig changes. 'Repulse' , built by John Brown at Clydebank, was launched on 8 January 1916 and completed on 14 August that year. See also PAE2745. |
