Description
English: Elmore Field, Mindoro, Philippine Islands Napalm bombs used by fighter bombers and light bombers were made in the field by the group Chemical Company, 3rd Bomb Group. The 894th Chemical Company made their Napalm bombs in the following manner which was standard for all chemical com-panies: 55 gallon drums of 80 octane gasoline were carried into the dump area, and from the barrels approximately 15 gallons of the gasoline were syphoned. Two buckets of Napalm powder (about 21 pounds) were poured into a barrel through a funnel and mixed by means of an air agitator entering the barrel through the smaller hole in the top of the drum (19% gel).
