fairly safe to say that never has any formof amusement attained such world-wide popu-larity as has the Moving Picture Show. Thereare the magnificent theatres of great cities, andalso lowly tumble-down shops converted at asmall expenditure into Shows, there are tents and marqueesin the East Indies and strange buildings in China, where themoving picture is looked upon by the peoples of East andWest; the pictures amuse the rich and idle and cheer the poorand weary. Like the art of printing, the moving picture hascome to stay, for better or worse, as a blessing or a curse, andwe cannot check its course, but it remains for those who useit to make of the thing a power for either good or evil. Two dangers beset the educationalists. One is the danger of making education so light and easy, under the plea ofmaking it interesting that it fails in its mission, owing to the fact that it can be attained without the strain of mentaldiscipline and concentration.
