SEBACEOUS GLANDS —SEBASTIAN in i86i, and served in 28 battles and skirmishesand rose to the rank of colonel. In 1872 and1874 he was the unsuccessful candidate for Con-gress; was a circuit judge 1875-7, and Republi-can nominee for judge of the Court of Appeals,eastern district, Ohio, in 1888. He was the su-preme judge of Oklahoma 1890-2, and governorof that territory in 1892-3, when he was re-moved by President Cleveland. Sebaceous Glands, small structures ofglandular nature and sacculated form which ex-ist in the substance of the corium, or deep layerof the dermis or true skin. They are very gen-erally distributed over the entire skin-surface,but are most numerous in the face and scalp.Those of the nose are of large size, and may fre-quently become enlarged from the accumulatedsecretion of the glands; while the largest inthe body are the sebaceous glands of the eyelids,the Meibomian glands (see Eye).
