It therefore standsto-day second to none in security of road-bed. safety of appli-■ances. general efficiency and comfort of equipment. The policy■of the company and its management is to get the best, andoperate the line in the best possible manner. The completion of the road of course proved the greatfiictor in the development of the Catskills as a popular summerresort. A new impetus was imparted to the mountain board-ing business, and hotels, large and small, began to rise hereimd there in the valleys and on the mountain slopes. It openeda new section of the range, which rivaled and even surpassedin beauty any other portion, while the entire region at oncebecame easily accessible. Luxurious parlor and day coaches.are now attached to the trains, and the most infirm and debili-tated may thus enjoy the benefits of this great natural sani-tarium.

Hereat the Point, passengers from the elegant and popular Day Linesteamers, New York and Albany, may board The Ulster& Delaware trains for any point in the range, stepping directlyfrom their palatial decks to the cars. The transfer of baggageis quickly effected, and there is no change of cars between theriver and the hills. After the delightful sail up the river one isready to enjoy the speedy whirl by train inland and among themountains to the fullest extent.
