Rase, a prominent lawyer of Philadelphia, and as publishedin the New York Sun. In the early part of 1862, said Colonel Kase, I went fromPhiladelphia to Washington. I had formerly lived in Washington, and had an office on Pennsylvania avenue.The morning after my arrival in Washington, I had occa-sion to pass by my old office. I noticed the name J. B. Conklin ona sign by the door. I had heard of Mr. Conklin as a medium, buthad never met him. As I stood looking at the sign, a voice behindme said: Go in and see Mr. Conklin, he has something for you.For a moment I hesitated, but my curiosity finally compelled me toobey the command.
