ppreciated that the usual opportunity to inspect thegardens is looked for with great interest in the sur-rounding locality. Visitors will find the bedding thisyear to be greatly varied in character, and as perfectand beautiful as ever—indeed, not only the bedding,but the entire place seems to grow in beauty. Ttierecent rains have left the extensive undulating lawnsin dense verdure clad, and the whole place is as neatas the proverbial new pin. The Grapes are superb,and well maintain Heckfields old reputation. The Marquis of Butes Vineyard at Castle Coch, near Cardiff, which has acquiredsomething more than a local reputation, is just nowlooking remarkably well, and there is the promise ofa very faur crop of fruits, the age of the Vines con-sidered. The plants now average 3 to 4 feet in height,each has put forth from three to five strong shoots,and the most vigorous plants have from six to sevengood bunches.
