TApbil 25, 1903. at Kew, which grow erect, have commenced tobear flowers when only 4 inches high. The leavesare oblong, obtnse at both ends, glabrous above,and borne on petioles about 9 lin. long. Theflowers, which are over 3 inches in diameter, aredeep reddish-purple in the corolla-tube, graduallygetting paler on the midribs upwards; while thegreater part of the limb is white or slightlysuffused with pink. C. H. W. discovered by Dr. A. Henry, and was describedby the writer. (Journ. Linn. Soc, xxiii., p. 225,t. 6) under the name of Spirjea Henryi. Itforms a densely-branched shrub, 6 to 7 feet high,with obovate or oblong leaves ^ to L§ inch long,and usually toothed above the middle. Theflowers are white, and borne on very slenderstalks.
