Description
English: "The Mystery of the Tea-Dansant", an episode in a series of two-act films from The Girl Detective (1915) in which a “society girl”, played by Ruth Roland, is employed as a special investigator by the police. In each self-contained episode, she works on several cases.

  • The lead roles the famous artists from the Vitagraph Company
  • Mary, a female detective.
  • Hamson, the owner of a "Tea Dansant" is close to his financial ruin because of his many debts.
  • And we can also tell our dear readers that the huge fortune of Mr. Wheeler

  • "Miss Wheeler, I am in financial trouble right now. Couldn't you buy a few shares of my company?
  • That same evening.
  • We have your daughter in our power. Should you wish to desposit $50.000 on the corner of Asher Street, tomorrow before 12, then your daughter will regain her freedom. Do not notify the police of this missive, for in that case, you will never see your daughter again.
  • The next day.
  • "Here is mr. Warrington, who was just placed in my department."
  • At the station. Derby tells his life's story.
  • "The mark on your arm proves, that you've been to South Africa."
  • "Many years ago I worked in the diamond mines with Hamson. He wore a different name then."
  • "He intended to return to the United States, but he had a sinister plan and wanted to assure himself of my help."
  • "That afternoon he seemingly left the business."
  • "But that same night I met him again."
  • "They didn't want to believe me and thought, that I had killed the man, in order to steal the diamonds."
  • "I was branded and placed in the mountain works."
  • "Later I was lucky and grabbed my chance to escape."
  • "In America I met Hamson again."
  • "Since that time he had me completely in his power."
  • That same night.
  • The girl has returned to her deadly worried mother.
