Tins is highly credit-able to both parties; it marks thetaste of the latter, and the desireof the former to render his pencilmore diffusively useful. Thewhole design and colouring of thedraperyare correct and appropriate.The azure and white, which may hesprinkled with lilies, are the co-lours of the legitimate dynasty ofFrance, and are beautifully cor-respondent with the opening sea-son. The eagle of Russia sur-mounts the whole, in allusion bothto the superiority she has obtained in arms, and in just complimentto her magnanimous forbearance,and her noble and respectful con-duct towards the French capital, ast of the Inn- arts.
