| Description |
English: The Shropshire Union Canal near Brewood, Staffordshire. The distant Eskew Bridge carries a small lane to the settlement at Shutt Green. The canal was built by Thomas Telford and opened in 1835. He attempted to minimise the distance by adopting straight lines wherever possible, so his canal includes many long embankments and cuttings. |
