It also gives them agood general education. The usual course in all the fifteen higli schools iscompleted in four years.

Many of tlie pupils are gradu-ates of the higli .schools. All of them have studied atleast two years in a high school. The course is oneyear or two. The school makes a specialty ofstenograi)liy, bookkeeping and other businessbranches. The Boston Normal Scliool (Huntington avenueand the Fenway) is for young men and women whowish to become teachers. They must be graduatesof high schools. The course is now three years. The immigrant i)arent will do well to get informa-tion about these different schools and find out whichis best for his boy or girl. All of them are free. PZventhe books antl other materials used are furnished bj^the city. A bright boy or girl ought to get the besteducation the parent can afford. The immigrantparent should go to the master of the elementaryschool before his boy or girl
