Miller address-ed the prisoners as follows: <kTbe commanding officer of this placehas called to speak to you on a very serious*subject this afternoon. Your Great Father atWashington after carefully reading what yourwitnesses have testified in your several trials _ 185 — have come to the conclusion tLat you have eachbeen guilty of wickedly and wantonly murder-ing his Avhite children; and for this reason hehas directed that you each be hanged by theneck until you are dead on next Friday, andthat order will be carried into effect that day
