wellington train bridge, over the lachine canal, between griffintown and pointe-saint0-charles. the bridge operators used to be in that little house, on top of the world; this is a turning bridge, i.e. it turns 90 degrees to let the boats pass on either side, on the lachine canal. it's been turned sideways for years now. the little house has a tree in it, not easy to see from here. in the background you can see the (abandonned) wellington tunnel building. |
