The former, situatedbehind, is coated with cartilage, andarticulates with the glenoid cavity ofthe scapula or blade-bone to form theshoulder-joint. Onthe inner side is the small trochanter or tubercle, and between them a prominence which divides the upperfront portion of the humerus into two grooves (bicipital groove).
