ake on each axle.This is the equipment used in the high speed work in the Cleveland& Lorain road. To accommodate both motor and brake on the sameaxle the wheels are dished. The equipment was controlled by a B-8controller. A diamond truck also carried two G. E. 57 motors,without brake equipment. On a Peckham flexible cantilever truckwere mounted two G. E. 52 57-h. p. motors with K-io controller. Allthese equipments were arranged to show the operation of bothmotor and brakes. The equipments of the two McGuire trucks werecontrolled by one controller, and were run either singly or bothtogether. On each of the above equipments was set a Thomsonrecording car meter for use on the car itself, serving to show how acheck may be placed on the performances of the motorman with thecontroller. The gear work was well represented, all gears andpinions shown coming from the gear plant of the General KlectricCompany. Three boards were erected in the exhibit space on whichwere mounted circuit breakers, switches, lightning arresters, meters,etc. The illumination was very elaborate; among the signs was onegiving the railway record of the company: 2,137 generators, aggregat-ing 512,213 h. p., 46,ic)i motors, aggregating 1,059,060 h. p. and 40,000series-parallel controllers.
