A distressing accident occurred on the San Francisco& San Mateo Electric Railway recently. It seems thatmischievous boys have been in thehabit of placing straw men on thestreet railway track and watchingthe frantic efforts of the motormento stop the car and avoid runningover the dummy. On the occasionalluded to, a motorman ran into andkilled a drunken fellow who waslying across the rails, thinking itwas a dummy. The motorman wasarrested, but released on his ownrecognizance.
