Description

L'entrée du Centre de documentation "Topographie de la Terreur"

Ce nouveau bâtiment a été conçu par l'architecte Ursula Wilms (Heinle, Wischer und Partner, Berlin) et l'aménagement du parc mémorial a été conçu par le Prof. Heinz W. Hallmann (Aachen). L'ensemble a été inauguré en mai 2010.

Ce mémorial se trouve dans la zone du quartier général de la Gestapo, du commandement central, du service de sécurité de la SS et après 1939 de l'Office central de la sécurité du Reich.

De nombreuses personnes, opposants ou considérées comme déviants par les nazis, ont été emprisonnées, torturées et tuées dans ces locaux. Certains prisonniers ont été envoyés dans les camps de concentration où ils ont le plus souvent péri.

Une exposition permanente sur les actions des nazis durant la guerre et les destructions de Berlin, ainsi que des films sont présentés dans le centre de documentation.
