[edit] Summary

Description
English: Traction and compression along two axes x and y:
  • traction + traction: the resulting shear stresses are opposed, the situation, the elastic limit is reached later;
  • traction + compression: the resulting shear stresses are working together, the elastic limit is reached sooner.
This leads to the Tresca and von Mises criteria.
Français : Traction et compression selon deux axes x and y :
  • traction + traction : les cissions résultantes s'opposent, on atteint plus lentement la limite élastique ;
  • traction + compression : les cissions résultantes s'ajoutent, on atteint plus vite la limite élastique.
Ceci mène aux critères de Tresca et de von Mises.
