| Description |
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
A traditional country wedding is held in Denekamp. The bride is picked up at her home by friends and taken to the house of the groom in a procession. There the bride and groom have a drink and go to table with the guests. The party ends with dances. SHOTS: - Young men and women dressed in farmers attire from Twente, run across the property of the farm of the bride and catch free-ranging chickens which will be used as a dowry; - the young men carry the linnen closet of the bride outside in triumph; - the whole company, including the chickens, linnen closet and bride, gets into decorated covered wagons and rides through rural surroundings to the farm of the groom; - there the groom helps the bride out of the wagon and they both receive a drink which they drink enthusiastically; - a cow, part of the dowry, is offered; - long tables with wooden benches stand in the open air; the company arrives and go to table; - the people are eating cheerfully; - farmers and farmers wives do a clog dance; - bride and groom are carried in triumph.

In Denekamp wordt een traditionele boerenbruiloft gehouden. De bruid wordt door vrienden thuis afgehaald en, in optocht, naar het huis van haar aanstaande vervoerd. Aldaar drinkt het bruidspaar een borreltje en gaat, mét de gasten aan tafel. Het feest wordt afgesloten met dansen. SHOTS: - Jonge mannen en vrouwen, in Twents boerenkostuum, hollen over het erf van de boerderij van de bruid en vangen loslopende kippen die als bruidsschat zullen worden meegenomen; - de jonge mannen dragen in triomf de linnenkast van de bruid naar buiten; - het hele gezelschap gaat, mét kippen, linnenkast en bruid, in versierde huifkarren op weg en rijdt door een landelijke omgeving naar de boerderij van de bruidegom; - aldaar helpt de bruidegom de bruid uitstappen en krijgen beiden een glaasje geserveerd dat ze enthousiast leegdrinken; - een koe, onderdeel van de bruidsschat, wordt aangeboden; - in de buitenlucht staan lange houten tafels met banken opgesteld; het gezelschap komt aangehost en gaat aan tafel; - de mensen zitten smakelijk te eten; - boeren en boerinnen doen een klompendans; - bruid en bruidegom gaan op de schouders. |
