USACE continues repairs at 17th Street Canal PCCP, 6 March 2024

Summary[edit]

Description
English: USACE and its construction partners continue to perform repairs onsite at the Permanent Canal Closures and Pumps (PCCP) in New Orleans, La. At the 17th Street Canal PCCP, workers use metal grinders inside the formed suction intake (FSI) adapter in the bay of Pump 4 to prepare it for the installation of studs used for holding anodes, which help protect metal structures from corrosion. In the bay of Pump 1, workers take temperature and humidity readings while inspecting the interior of the bay in preparation for repairs being made to its FSI. USACE is continuing to work at both the 17th Street Canal and London Avenue Outfall PCCPs while additional pump equipment is being repaired offsite.
