English: Cpl David Pratt, a technical rescue Marine with Chemical Biological Incident Response Force’s Technical Rescue Platoon, adjusts a strut to stabilize the walls of a trench before they enter to extract two “victims” from a simulated collapse during the joint 72-hour technical rescue training operation with the 911th U.S. Army Technical Rescue Engineer Company at Downey Responder Training Facility. According to Mr. Patrick Higgins, lead CBRNE instructor for CBIRF, a trench rescue is probably one of the most common and most dangerous rescues due to the frequency of trenches being done for installing or repairing of utilities and the many variables involved with a trench. |
