Description
English: The U.S. Navy cruiser USS Columbus (CA-74) at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Washington (USA), on 4 April 1960. Note everything above the hull was removed for her conversion to a guided missile cruiser. Her new aluminium superstructure is being fitted and she was recommissioned as CG-12 on 1 December 1962.
