Description

Photograph taken during the vacation cruise of the U.S. President Harry S. Truman to Bermuda. This photo was taken at the Naval Air Station Quonset Point, Rhode Island (USA), looking toward the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea (CV-47). The escort ship for the presidential yacht USS Williamsburg (AGC-369), USS Weiss (APD-135) is at right. The photograph was taken from the Williamsburg.

Note that Weiss is painted in peacetime light grey with a large hull number, whereas Philippine Sea still wears the wartime measure 21 camouflage and no visible hull number.
