Description
English: At sea aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) Mar. 27, 2002 -- Aviation Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Thomas Bokotey, from Hinckley, OH, prepares the tools he needs to inspect the exhaust core inside the port afterburner of an F-14 “Tomcat” fighter aircraft. Kitty Hawk is conducting work-ups in preparation for an upcoming extended underway period and is the Navy’s only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.
