DescriptionUS Navy 030819-N-9593R-172 Captain (Medical Corps) Charles Richardson studies a three-dimensional model on his work station at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.jpg |
English: National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., (Aug. 19, 2003) -- Captain Charles Richardson, MC (Medical Corps) studies a three-dimensional model on his work station at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The hospital uses 3D modeling based on radiological images, then converts the computer model to a device prior to surgery. This can minimize a corrective surgery that may take four hours to complete, down to approximately one hour, according to medical personnel. U.S. Navy photo by Chief Warrant Officer 4 Seth Rossman.
