Description
English: Aboard USS Raven (MHC 61) Nov. 17, 2003 -- Quartermaster Seaman John Tadyeh reaches for Armed Services Edition (ASE) books aboard the coastal mine hunter USS Raven (MHC 61). The founder of the Legacy Project, Andrew Carroll, flew to Bahrain to assist in handing out more than 20,000 Armed Service Edition book throughout U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and 5th Fleet area of operations. Carroll hopes to hand out books in Iraq and aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65) during his visit to the area. The Legacy Project is a volunteer initiative seeking out historically significant letters from all American Wars. The mission of the organization is to honor those who served their country by ensuring that their experiences, their sacrifices, and their thoughts are preserved for future generations.
