(May 1, 2004) - Personnelman 2nd Class Adam Murphy was selected as an "Honorary Pit Crew Member" for the Fitz-Bradshaw Racing Team during the Stater Bros. 300 NASCAR Busch Series race at the California Speedway. Petty Officer Murphy was offered this opportunity by his command, Reserve Recruiting Command Area Pacific, for his selection as 2003 Sailor of the Quarter (Fourth Quarter). As a recruiting effort, the Navy sponsors the No. 14 Chevy Monte Carlo driven by Casey Atwood. Atwood finished 29th in a field of 43 starting drivers.
