English: Pacific Ocean (July 12, 2004) - An F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to the "Eagles" of Strike Fighter Squadron One One Five (VFA-115) sits chained to the flight deck as the lights of a incoming plane streak by during this fifteen second time exposure during night operations on the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). The ship and Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are taking part in the multi-national maritime exercise "Rim of the Pacific 2004" (RIMPAC). RIMPAC is the largest international maritime exercise in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands. This year's exercise includes seven participating nations; Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom and United States. RIMPAC is intended to enhance the tactical proficiency of participating units in a wide array of combined operations at sea, while enhancing stability in the Pacific Rim region.
