Description
English: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Nov. 17, 2004) - Vice Chairman and Secretary, USS Missouri Memorial Association, Robert T. Guard presents an artist's concept of the Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Legacy Center to Chief Boatswain's Mate Harold B. Estes for his involvement, at a tribute ceremony in his honor on the pier next to the decommissioned battleship USS Missouri. More than 200 guests paid tribute to Estes, who retired from the Navy in 1955, and has received numerous awards from the Secretary of the Navy for public service and involvement in the Sea Services. Estes is also known for helping to bring the Missouri and USS Bowfin submarine to Pearl Harbor as floating museums. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 1st Class William R. Goodwin (RELEASED)
