Summary[edit]

Description
English: Persian Gulf (Dec. 1, 2004) – U.S. Marines Corps Ordnancemen, assigned to the "Silver Eagles" of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron One One Five (VMFA-115), hoist an AGM-65 Maverick laser-guided missile to a weapons pylon under the wing of one of their squadron's F/A-18A Hornets aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The AGM-65 Maverick is an air-to-surface tactical missile designed for close air support, interdiction and defense suppression. It is effective against a wide range of tactical targets, including armor, air defenses, ships, ground transportation and fuel storage facilities. Truman's Carrier Strike Group Ten (CSG-10) and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) are currently on a scheduled deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
