DescriptionUS Navy 050331-N-0000H-001 Navy Search and Rescue swimmers assigned to guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam rig a recoverable exercise torpedo while still in the water.jpg |
English: Persian Gulf (March 31, 2005) - Navy Search and Rescue swimmers assigned to guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam rig a recoverable exercise torpedo while still in the water. The foc'sle recovery team sent down two tending lines that attach to the forward and aft ends of the torpedo before it was hauled aboard the ship. A giant band was also placed around the middle of the torpedo, which connects to a hook and is lowered from the foc'sle and provided the driving force that lifted the torpedo from the water.
