The U.S. Navy amphibious transport dock ship USS Ogden (LPD 5) and its embarked Coast Guard Marine Safety and Security Team (MSST) are participating in the exercise Alaska Shield/Northern Edge 2005. The exercise is the first opportunity within the state to exercise an integrated local, state and federal government response to a series of simulated emergencies including natural disasters, terrorist attacks and mass casualty scenarios.
