English: New Orleans (Sept. 7, 2005) - New Orleans residents are rushed from a U.S. Navy SH-60F Seahawk helicopter, assigned to the "Emerald Knights" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Seven Five (HS-75), after being evacuated from their homes and transported to New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport in the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. HS-75 is embarked aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, currently operating in the Gulf of Mexico. The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
