English: Pacific Ocean (May 1, 2006) - Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Ronald Bayaca a computerized tomography (CT) scan technician, checks the lower-right extremity of a sailor aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), during a recent exam. Mercy is underway on a five-month deployment, during which its crew will work with several non-governmental medical organizations to deliver humanitarian assistance to people in South and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands. Mercy is a uniquely capable ship that offers numerous services in various fields including general surgery, eye surgery, dentistry, optometry and public health training.
