English: BAY OF BENGAL (Nov. 29, 2007) A commander in the Bangladesh Army gives an interview to international media on the unique capabilities that Kearsarge brings to the Bangladesh Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief mission in the hangar bay of amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). Kearsarge and the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) are conducting relief efforts in response to the government of Bangladesh's request for assistance after Tropical Cyclone Sidr struck their southern coast Nov. 15. The storm killed more than 3,000 people and has left several hundred thousand homeless. The Department of Defense effort is part of a larger U.S. response coordinated by the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development.
