English: ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 23, 2010) Hospital Corpsmen 3rd Class Joseph Williams and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Alejandro Calzada, assigned to the Golden Eagles of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), carry an injured Sailor across the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau (LHA 4). The Sailor was medically evacuated to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, because of a broken ankle. Nassau is deployed as part of the Nassau Amphibious Ready Group supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. The Sailor was was medically evacuated to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, because of a broken ankle. Nassau is deployed as part of the Nassau Amphibious Ready Group/24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (NAS ARG/24 MEU) in support of Maritime Security Operations (MSO) and Theater Security Operations (TSC) efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. The NAS ARG/24 MEU is comprised of embarked Marines from the 24 MEU, the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau (LHA 4), the amphibious transport dock USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48).
