Description
English: GULF OF GUINEA (March 22, 2010) Benin navy Petty Officer Adoukonou Jacques, right, and Chief Hekponwe Severin, both Africa Partnership Station West students embarked aboard the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock-landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44), use a Navy fire-fighting thermal imagery device to find an object in a smoke-filled compartment during a damage control scenario aboard the ship. Gunston Hall is on a scheduled deployment in West Africa supporting Africa Partnership Station, an international initiative developed by U.S. Naval Forces Europe and U.S. Naval Forces Africa to improve maritime safety and security in West and Central Africa.
