Summary[edit]
DescriptionUnited House of Prayer for All People, Harlem.jpg | The United House of Prayer for All People at 2320 Frederick Douglass Boulevard on the corners of West 124th and `125th Streets in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, is a block-long complex which includes a soul food cafeteria and other commercial spaces on 125th Street. A renovation and expansion of the c.1940's building was completed in 1997, overseen by architect Edward E. Cherry, and the sanctuary was re-dedicated in that year. The congregation was founded in 1920 by Bishop C. M. Grace at 20 West 115th Street, but had to move when that building burned down in 1947, however the block there is used for mass baptism by fire hose every August.
