Summary[edit]

Description

New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina: 19th century "Queen Anne" style mansion on St. Charles Avenue has been used for businesses for decades. It experienced significant wind damage from the hurricane. Owners applied to demolish the structure; permission was granted by the New Orleans city council. It is the first demolition permit for one of the remaining St. Charles Avenue 19th century mansions granted in decades, and this permit has raised some ire among preservationists.
