Porträt Charlotte Elisabeth "Elisa" Konstanze von der Recke (1754-1833), Schriftstellerin, war besonders für ihre Lyrik und ihre Reiseberichte bekannt. Sie war die Halbschwester der Herzogin Anna Dorothea von Kurlands. Darstellung: Reckes Portaitkopf steckt zusammen mit Schreibfedern in einem Tintenfass. Neben dem Titel "Elise v. d. Recke" und einem Vers unter dem Bild, ist der linke Rand der Zeichnung mit einem großen und einem kleinen "T" versehen. - nachträglich mit einem Kreuz hinter Titel/Namen versehen [Bildunterschrift] Die Tinte man zum schreiben braucht/ Den Toback man so schnupft als raucht.Biografisches Die Schriftstellerin Charlotte Elisabeth (Elisa) Konstanze von der Recke (1754–1833) ist besonders für ihre Lyrik, ihre Reiseberichte und geistlichen Lieder bekannt. Ihre Eltern waren Graf Johann Friedrich von Medem (1722–1785) und Louise Dorothea von Korff (1736–1757/58). Die Halbschwester der Herzogin von Kurland heiratete 1771 den Kammerherren Georg Magnus von der Recke (1739–1795), von dem sie sich 1781 wieder scheiden ließ. (1) Danach begann Elisa von der Recke ein unstetes Reiseleben und lernte dabei nahezu alle wichtigen Literaten und Künstler ihrer Zeit kennen, darunter Goethe, Schiller, Kant, Nicolai und Graff. Sie unterhielt freundschaftliche Beziehungen zu den aufgeklärten Fürstenhöfen und genoss Zutritt zu den königlichen Höfen in Berlin und Warschau. 1784 befreundete sie sich mit der Familie Körner und wurde Patin Teodor Körners (1791–1813). (2) Ab 1804 lebte Elisa von der Recke mit dem Dichter Christoph August Tiedge (1752–1841) zusammen, den sie bereits 1784 kennen gelernt hatte. Beide reisten gemeinsam durch Europa, hielten sich aber oft in Karlsbad und Löbichau auf. Seit 1818 besaß von der Recke ein Haus in der Dresdner Neustadt. In ihrem dortigen Salon trafen sich nicht nur die wichtigsten Persönlichkeiten der Residenzstadt, sondern auch Gäste aus ganz Europa. 1833 starb sie in Dresden. Tiedge wurde ihr Universalerbe.
