| Description |
Valley of Fire, about an hour's drive northeast of Las Vegas, offers spectacular views of blazing red rock formations. It is one of the most important attractions in the Nevada State Parks system, and is definitely worth a day trip from Las Vegas. Valley of Fire used to have a resident human population, who have since disappeared; they left petroglyphs like these for clues into their lifestyle. These people are known as the Anasazi, or the Forgotten People. These petroglyphs are from Atlatl Rock near the western entrance of the park. |
