First produced at Paris, March 11,1867; in London, at Her Majestys Theatre, June 4, 1867. Although it was revised andimproved by Verdi in 1883, it is seldom given nowadays. Revived at La Scala, Milan, in1912 and recently at Monte Carlo for Ruffo.
