Summary[edit]
DescriptionWATU wargame 1.png |
English: A naval wargame conducted at the Western Approaches Tactical Unit (WATU) in Liverpool during World War II. The male officers on the right are players, and they are looking through peepholes in a screen that prevents them from seeing the entire playing field, thereby simulating the fog of war. The female officers in the center of the rooms were responsible for computing the effects of the players' orders and moving the model ships across the game board. The woman in the foreground is Jean Laidlaw. |
