Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) Poplars near Nuenen (1985) Olieverf op doek. This painting entitled 'Symphonie in yellow' was the first of Vana Gogh's paintings to enter a public collection in 1903. It marks the transition from his dark Dutch oeuvre to his lighter expressionistic French work. He took it with him to Paris where he entered the lighter dabs. Volgens de beschrijving van Museum Boijmans van Beuningen: Dit schilderij was in 1903 het eerste schilderij van van Gogh in een openbare collectie. 'Symfonie in geel' noemde van Gogh het zelf. Het markeert de overgang van zijn donkere Nederlandse ouvre, naar de lichtere, expressionistische Franse tijd. Hij nam het mee toen hij naar Parijs ging en voegde daar de losse, lichtere toetsen toe aan het doek. Foto genomen op 21 juni 2009 tijdens Midzomer evenement voor WLANL georganiseerd door Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam. |
