KB 1600mm ) The water striders (Gerridae - colloquially and regionally also tailors or water cutters) are a family within the subordination of the bugs (Heteroptera). They occur in Europe with 16 species, of which 10 species of the genus Gerris live in Central Europe. The species are very difficult to distinguish. Die Wasserläufer (Gerridae - umgangssprachlich und regional auch Schneider oder Wasserschneider) sind eine Familie innerhalb der Unterordnung der Wanzen (Heteroptera). Sie kommen in Europa mit 16 Arten vor, von denen 10 Arten der Gattung Gerris in Mitteleuropa leben. Die Arten sind sehr schwer zu unterscheiden.
