Description
English: West side of Broadway at 46th Street, on Times Square in Manhattan. (See also description at other version.)

At left, a sign above the marquee of the Gaiety Theatre, on the south side of 46th Street, announces The House Next Door, which played the Gaiety from April 12 to September 3, 1909. Billboards at right of image advertise A Woman's Way at the Hackett Theatre, where it played from February 22 to May 29, 1909, The Climax at Daly's Theatre (on 30th Street), where it played from April 26 to July 10, 1909, and the vaudeville bill for the week of April 26 at the Colonial Theatre.

At left of image is the six-story Gaiety Building, with stores at street level (including the Gaiety Cafe), and offices above.
Across 46th Street from the theatre is an early and short-lived location of Churchill's Restaurant, before it moved to 49th Street. The building later housed the Orpheum Dance Palace, and still later, a Howard Johnson's restaurant, and the Gaiety "male burlesque" on the second floor.

The next building, with Long Acre Toggery, was transformed the following year into the Broadway entrance of the Globe Theatre.
