. LIEUTENANT WOUNDED Second Lt. Martin I. Weinberger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Wein-berger. of 40 E. 52nd St., is a na-tive of Bayonne, and was a mem-ber of the R. 0. T. C. at New York University, from which he graduated in 1942 with the degree of B.S. He went to OCS at Fort Benning. where he was commis-sioned a second lieutenant Dec. 30. 1943. He went overseas last May and less than two months later participated in the engagement in which he suffered his wounds fol-lowing the big push in Normandy.; The young lieutenant did not . wait for the government to make: known his misfortune to his gar-ments. for he feared they would • be unduly alarmed, so he sent them a letter dated July 27, telling them he was injured the day before, but that there was nothing to worry about. On Aug. 15 came word from the government he was wounded in action, also that he was awarded the Purple Heart. This he had already sent home.

-. WILLIAM T. JENNETTE he was employed by the Electric Boat Co.. Bayonne. He went from Fort Dix to Fort Knox. Ky.. for basic training and was assigned to the Armored Tank Corps. with which he went overseas last May. He is single and made his home with his parents. Ga., recovering from the results of a machine-gun barrage, which resulted in the amputation of his left arm, and his left leg was so riddled it was feared for a time the leg. too. would have to be amputated. But the limb responded encouragingly to treat-ment at Walter Reed Hospital. :Washington. where he was brought 'after he was flown back to Mitchell Field and full recovery is expected under the care he now is receiving at the Atlanta hospital. I Jennette is the son of Mr. and ;Mrs. Thomas Jennette and a grad-uate of school 7 and Bayonne Tech-nical High School. He was em-. ployed as a welder by the Bethle-' hem Steel Shipyard Co.. Staten Island. at the time of his induction May 31. 1943. He trained at Camp Campbell, Ky., and Camp Meade. Mo., before he went across. He was wounded during the fighting in France on July 17. After he was flown back for treatment. he was visited at the hospital in Wash-' ington by his father. whom he assured he is perfectly 0. K. BROTHER-IN-LAW KILLED I P. F. C. Duncan M. Sugzda, 20. of 11 W. 15th St., Bayonne. who was wounded during the fighting in France July 19, is a brother-in-- law of P. F. C. Stanley Pront-nicki, of that address. news of whose death was published in The Jersey Journal Friday. P. F. C. Prontnicki, husband of Sugzda's I sister. was killed in action June 14 :during the fighting in Burma. News of his death reached his young wife. the former Euphemia Sugzda, on July 27, their first wedding anniversary. Sugzda, in his latest letter home. in which he wrote he was fully recovered from his injuries, seemed to have a premonition that all was not well with his brother-in-law. for he asks his family to tell him of his present whereabouts and whether his brother. Corp. John Sugzda, also serving in India, had made contact with him. Duncan Sugzda wrote that when they next ! hear from him he may be back with his own company, as he has • been released from the hospital and has been sent to a replacement camp. • Sugzda, one of nine children.   • P.F.C. Vincent G. Norton of 603 Garfield Avenue, slightly wounded in action in France July 6, has since been returned to duty and is fighting as a member of General Patton's Third Army. The 21-year-old armored infantryman was born in Jersey City and is a graduate of School 15 and Snyder High School. Before his induction in May 1943, he was employed by the Lehigh Valley Railroad. Following training at Camp Campbell, Kentucky, he was sent overseas in May of this year. A brother, Radioman 2c Thomas Norton, has made 15 ocean crossings aboard a combination transport and hospital ship.
