It is true that the Coast Guard historical site calls this image "1830 CHATHAM LIGHT TWIN TOWERS" with the file name http://www.uscg.mil/history/weblighthouses/chatham1830.JPG. There are two problems with that date:
- The wood 1808 towers were octagonal. These are round.
- The first practical photograph of any kind is from the late 1830s, so it is very unlikely that the 1808 towers were photographed before being replaced in 1841. The octagonal wood structure in the right center of the image may well be one of the 1808 towers.
