Geschenk der kanadischen Regierung an die Stadt Bonn zur Bundesgartenschau 1979.
1989, anlässlich der 2000-Jahr-Feier der Stadt Bonn, renoviert von Chief Tony Hunt. 2004 restauriert. 2018 vollständige Restaurierung mit originalgetreuer Erneuerung besonders stark beschädigter Teile.

Für den Totempfahl in Bonn hat Tony Hunt in der Nähe des Jordan-Flusses nördlich von Victoria in der Provinz British-Columbia eine ungefähr 100 Jahre alte rote Zeder („Thuja plicata“, nicht verwandt mit unserer Zeder, sondern gehört zur Familie der Lebensbäume) schlagen lassen und an den Rhein gebracht. Die rote Zeder ist das traditionelle Holz für Totem-Pfähle, weil es sich wegen seiner Haltbarkeit und der Geradlinigkeit seiner Maserung nicht nur leicht schnitzen lässt, sondern auch besonders haltbar ist. Hunts bisher bekanntestes Objekt ist ein 23 m hoher Pfahl, der für die Weltausstellung Expo in Montreal geschaffen wurde.
